A senior U.S. House Democrat has initiated an investigation into World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a cryptocurrency project associated with Donald Trump, following reports of a $500 million investment from a UAE royal-linked entity. Representative Ro Khanna has requested detailed information from WLFI co-founder Zach Witkoff, seeking clarity on the investment by Aryam Investment 1, which is controlled by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE National Security Advisor. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Aryam Investment 1 acquired a 49% stake in WLFI.
