The United States experienced a significant increase in crypto ATM-related scams, with losses reaching $240 million in the first half of 2025, nearly double the amount from the same period in 2024, according to FBI data. In response, Spokane, Washington, has implemented a complete ban on crypto ATMs, marking the largest city-level prohibition in the country. Other states, including Arizona, Arkansas, Vermont, and the city of St. Paul, Minnesota, are considering similar measures to tighten regulations. Currently, the U.S. hosts approximately 80% of the world's crypto ATMs.
