The U.S. Department of Defense is in talks to provide approximately $5 billion in loans to AI cloud computing startup Fluidstack to support financing for artificial intelligence infrastructure, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The proposed funding would come through the department’s Strategic Capital Office, which primarily issues loans to companies operating in key U.S. national security areas. If completed, the deal would be the office’s largest loan to date. The arrangements remain under negotiation.
