The United States saw a significant reduction in Bitcoin ATMs during the first quarter of 2026, with a net loss of 559 machines, according to Coin ATM Radar. The number of ATMs fell from 30,788 on January 1 to 30,229 by April 1, marking a 1.82% decline. Despite a brief increase in February and March, the overall trend was downward, averaging a loss of 6.2 ATMs per day. In Europe, Bitcoin ATM numbers also declined, albeit at a slower rate. The continent's ATM count decreased by 31 machines, or 1.74%, ending the quarter with 1,754 units. Spain, while remaining the largest market in Europe, saw a reduction of 20 ATMs, while Poland experienced growth, adding 19 machines. These trends suggest a shift towards market consolidation and optimization rather than expansion.
