The United States and Thailand have signed a significant trade framework in Kuala Lumpur, aimed at eliminating nearly all tariffs on U.S. goods and addressing non-tariff barriers. Under the agreement, Thailand will reduce tariffs on 99% of U.S. imports, including agricultural and industrial products, while the U.S. will remove non-tariff obstacles and establish a dispute resolution mechanism. This agreement, announced at the 13th U.S.-ASEAN summit, is designed to enhance bilateral trade and promote regional stability. The deal is expected to impact over $3 billion in annual trade flows, alongside additional peace accords with Cambodia and expanded defense partnerships.
