Unitree Robotics secured the top position in China's embodied intelligent robot tenders for August, winning 136 medium and full-size humanoid and quadruped robots across 55 procurement orders. According to Gaogong Robotics data, the company captured approximately one-third of the market activity within a sector that saw 168 winning projects totaling RMB 550 million ($77 million). Research and education institutions drove nearly 80% of project volume, while data collection and training centers accounted for roughly 60% of total contract value. The largest single order was an RMB 122 million project to establish the Shanxi Taichu Embodied Intelligence Innovation R&D Center. Commercial applications in power inspection, industrial use, and firefighting currently represent less than 10% of awarded projects, indicating the market remains heavily focused on development infrastructure rather than real-world deployment.
