Unitree Robotics has announced that its H1 robot has set a new world record for the fastest 100-meter sprint by a humanoid robot. The H1 achieved a peak speed of 10 meters per second during the test, as confirmed by video footage. This performance comes close to the average speed of 10.44 meters per second achieved by Usain Bolt, the current men's 100-meter world record holder.
In March, Unitree's founder, Wang Xingxing, predicted that Chinese humanoid robots would break the 10-second barrier in the 100-meter sprint by mid-year, surpassing Bolt's record. The recent achievement by the H1 robot marks a significant milestone in the development of humanoid robotics.
