Uniswap founder Hayden Adams has emphasized the role of Ethereum (ETH) as a form of currency within a decentralized monetary system. Speaking on May 27, Adams highlighted that while the phrase "ETH is money" holds true, its interpretation may differ from common perceptions. He envisions a future where all assets are tokenized, allowing users to hold assets they value most, fostering competition among various currency forms. Adams argues that this decentralized system will not rely on a single unit of account, provided there is an efficient, low-cost asset exchange mechanism available 24/7. He praised Uniswap, which operates on Ethereum, as the current leading decentralized monetary system, though he acknowledged the field is still in its infancy. His comments align with discussions by David Hoffman, co-founder of Bankless, who recently sold his ETH holdings.
