Uniswap Labs and its founder, Hayden Adams, have been cleared of all state law claims in a lawsuit concerning fraudulent tokens. Judge Katherine Polk Failla of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the claims, ruling that Uniswap is not liable for scams like "rug pulls" and "pump-and-dump" schemes conducted by third-party issuers on its platform. The court emphasized that providing a trading platform does not equate to aiding fraud, and holding developers accountable for misuse of smart contract code "defies logic." Uniswap Labs’ General Counsel, Brian Nistler, hailed the decision as a significant precedent in the DeFi sector.
