The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), alongside HMRC and the Metropolitan Police, raided three suspected illegal peer-to-peer crypto trading locations across London. Regulators issued cease-and-desist notices to operators, demanding the immediate halt of all unregistered crypto business activities.
The FCA reiterated that any entity conducting P2P crypto buying and selling as a business in the UK must complete anti-money laundering registration. The regulator confirmed that there are currently no FCA-registered peer-to-peer crypto exchange businesses operating within the country.
