Keith Grossman, president of crypto payments firm MoonPay, predicts that tokenization will revolutionize the financial industry more rapidly than digital technology transformed media. Grossman highlights that real-world asset (RWA) tokenization is already underway, with major players like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton offering tokenized funds. The RWA sector's market cap, excluding stablecoins, stands at nearly $19 billion. Grossman asserts that traditional financial institutions, such as Citi and JPMorgan Chase, will need to adapt to survive, much like media companies did during the digital shift. He emphasizes that tokenized finance offers benefits like 24/7 market access, global asset scalability, and reduced transaction costs. The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) plans to introduce tokenized assets, including US Treasuries, by late 2026, marking a significant shift towards continuous trading.
