The U.S. Department of Justice has indicted three men from Tennessee for allegedly conducting a series of robberies, kidnappings, and conspiracies targeting cryptocurrency holders in California. The federal grand jury charges reveal that the suspects impersonated delivery personnel to gain access to victims' homes in San Francisco, San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Los Angeles. They reportedly used firearms, tape, and zip ties to coerce victims into surrendering their crypto account information. According to the indictment, one incident involved a victim being forced to transfer $10 million in Bitcoin and $3 million in Ethereum, while another case saw $6.5 million in crypto assets stolen. The charges carry potential sentences ranging from 20 years to life imprisonment.
