Faruk Fatih Ozer, the founder and former CEO of the defunct cryptocurrency exchange Thodex, was found dead in a prison in Tekirdağ, Turkey. Authorities are investigating the possibility of suicide. Ozer was serving an 11,196-year sentence for fraud and other charges, following his conviction in 2023. Thodex, established in 2017, collapsed in 2021, leading to investor losses estimated between $240 million and $2.6 billion. The case was considered one of Turkey's largest crypto fraud incidents.
