Thinking Machines Lab, founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, has acquired the technology of personalized AI startup Workshop Labs, along with recruiting its co-founders, CEO Luke Drago and CTO Rudolf Laine. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Workshop Labs, known for its proprietary training stack for trillion-parameter models, was established about a year ago and focuses on augmenting human capabilities with AI. This acquisition marks a strategic move by Thinking Machines to expand its focus on personalized AI model customization. Workshop Labs had previously contributed to the testing of Thinking Machines' model customization tool, Tinker. Mira Murati emphasized the company's mission to empower human civilization with AI, highlighting the acquisition as part of a broader technological roadmap.
