The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has released a consultation paper proposing amendments to the licensing rules for derivatives businesses. The proposed changes would allow digital asset companies to apply for derivatives trading based on digital assets without the need to establish a new company. Additionally, investors would be permitted to use related contracts for risk management purposes. The SEC also aims to enhance financial and regulatory standards for exchanges and clearinghouses, and mandates the implementation of conflict of interest prevention mechanisms. Public comments on these proposals are open until May 20, 2026.
