Tether has frozen 182 million USDT across five addresses on the Tron network, as reported by Whale Alert. This action, taken on January 11, is part of Tether's ongoing efforts to comply with U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions. The frozen addresses each held between 12 million and 50 million USDT. Since implementing its wallet suspension protocol in December 2023, Tether has frozen over $3 billion in USDT, working with more than 310 law enforcement agencies across 62 countries. According to AMLBot, Tether's frozen assets since 2023 are approximately 30 times greater than those of Circle. USDT currently circulates over $187 billion, representing about 64% of the stablecoin market share.
