Tether has partnered with Oobit to allow its USA₮ stablecoin to be spent at more than 100 million merchants worldwide that accept Visa. This collaboration marks Oobit as the first payments network to facilitate USA₮ transactions on such a large scale. USA₮, issued by Tether America, was launched in November as a stablecoin compliant with U.S. federal regulations under the GENIUS Act. The partnership aims to enhance the utility of USA₮ by enabling secure and efficient transactions with any retailer supporting Visa payments. This initiative is seen as a significant step in integrating stablecoin-based payments into everyday commerce in the United States. Additionally, Tether has teamed up with Anchorage Digital to streamline the conversion of USA₮ to fiat currency for retailers, further simplifying the transaction process.
