Tether's AI research team has released a production-ready version of TurboQuant, a memory compression technology developed by Google Research, integrated into the latest QVAC SDK. TurboQuant significantly reduces the key-value caching problem, compressing cache by up to five times with minimal impact on output quality. This advancement allows consumer devices like laptops and mobile phones to handle complex AI tasks locally, reducing dependence on cloud data centers. Tether's CEO emphasized that this update aims to facilitate AI processing on personal devices and local networks, moving away from centralized systems.
