Tencent has launched two new Vibe Coding products following CEO Ma Huateng's admission of challenges in the company's AI development. At Tencent's annual shareholders meeting, Ma described the AI progress as "a boat with a leak," emphasizing the need for accelerated development. In response, Tencent introduced the standalone app Toast and an AI post feature integrated into QQ.
Toast, available exclusively on Android via Tencent's App Store, allows users to generate apps by inputting natural language, which the AI then converts into installable APK files. The app offers five free generations per day during its public beta and includes an Inspiration Square for sharing and customizing apps. Meanwhile, QQ's AI post feature, in internal testing, enables users to publish AI-generated tools and mini-games as social posts, enhancing interaction within the platform.
