Blockchain startup Tempo, backed by Stripe, has raised $500 million in a Series A funding round, achieving a valuation of approximately $5 billion. The round was led by Thrive Capital, founded by Joshua Kushner, and Greenoaks, with participation from Sequoia, Ribbit Capital, and SV Angel. Tempo, developed in collaboration with Stripe and Paradigm, focuses on stablecoin payment infrastructure. Its partners include OpenAI, Shopify, and Visa, aiming to establish the US dollar stablecoin as a new foundational network for global payments.
