A 17-year-old British teenager, Alexander Browder, has been sanctioned by Russia after revealing that the A7A5 stablecoin was used to circumvent Western sanctions. Browder's March report highlighted that the ruble-backed stablecoin, supported by Promsvyazbank, was employed to bypass sanctions related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The European Union had already sanctioned A7A5 in October 2025. Browder believes his findings provoked the Russian government, potentially making him the youngest individual ever sanctioned by Russia.
