A tech investor, identified as Lachy Groom, was robbed of $11 million in cryptocurrency at his San Francisco home on November 22. The robbers, disguised as UPS deliverymen, forced their way into Groom's residence, binding and torturing him to extract cryptocurrency from his electronic devices. Surveillance footage captured the incident, where the assailants, speaking with a foreign accent, coerced Groom into transferring the assets. Police are investigating the method used to transfer the stolen cryptocurrency. Groom, a venture capitalist and former partner of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, sustained minor injuries during the ordeal.
