TAC has revealed a security breach in the TON-TAC asset bridge, which occurred on May 11. The vulnerability, stemming from inadequate validation in the sequencer software, enabled attackers to illicitly obtain around $2.86 million by creating fake Jetton wallets. The breach impacted assets including USDT, BLUM, and tsTON.
By May 14, TAC successfully recovered approximately 90% of the stolen assets, securing them in a multisig address under its control. However, 10% of the assets remain with the attacker. The cross-chain bridge has been temporarily suspended as TAC collaborates with auditors and TON partners to conduct an independent review of the updated software.
