TAC confirmed that hackers exploited a vulnerability in the precompile layer of the Cosmos EVM module, stealing about $7.5 million from one account and transferring roughly 2.986 billion TAC tokens from a custody account.
The project said no new tokens were created and that only TAC tokens were affected, with other assets left untouched. TAC paused the network at block 24,671,475, freezing all transactions, deposits and withdrawals, and said it is working with exchanges to trace the stolen funds. The attack follows a similar incident at MANTRA Chain, while Term Labs also reported a separate attack on the same day.
