Synnax Labs has accused security firm PeckShield of withholding an audit after a $1.7 million hack on the DeFi lending protocol Abracadabra. The stablecoin yield layer, a fork of Abracadabra, claims PeckShield refunded and removed the audit, which allegedly failed to identify a critical vulnerability. Synnax Labs criticized the audit for lacking depth and reported that PeckShield deleted the report and related communications following the refund.
The issue came to light after blockchain specialist Weilin Li questioned Synnax Labs' exposure to the same vulnerability. Although Synnax Labs patched the flaw four days before the exploit, PeckShield did not issue an alert. Abracadabra has experienced three significant DeFi exploits since 2024, resulting in over $21 million in losses.
