A single entity has executed a sybil attack on the ROBO token airdrop of the Fabric protocol, securing 40% of the total distribution. According to Bubblemaps monitoring, over 7,000 newly created wallets were used to claim approximately 199 million ROBO tokens, valued at $8 million at launch on February 27. These wallets exhibited identical on-chain activity, receiving Ethereum from seven exchanges and transferring funds through multiple layers before claiming the tokens.
Bubblemaps' analysis indicates no current evidence linking this activity to the core teams of Fabric or OpenMind. The incident highlights vulnerabilities in airdrop mechanisms, raising concerns about the security and fairness of token distributions.
