Switzerland's gambling authority, Gespa, has initiated an investigation into FIFA's blockchain-based 'Right-to-Buy' tokens, which offer the chance to purchase 2026 World Cup tickets. The probe aims to determine if these tokens, priced according to a team's likelihood of reaching the final, fall under gambling regulations. Gespa director Manuel Richard clarified that FIFA is not accused of any wrongdoing, but the inquiry follows concerns raised by Bloomberg. The tokens allow holders to buy tickets at face value if their chosen team qualifies. Gespa can block websites and alert authorities if illegal activities are found.
