Swiss Bitcoin Pay has temporarily shut down its servers after a malicious user likely gained access to the company’s internal systems. The Bitcoin payment provider said it is investigating the incident and strengthening its infrastructure as a precaution.
Potentially accessed data includes customer email addresses, Bitcoin addresses, IBANs, transaction history and hashed passwords. The company said user funds remain safe and all payments owed to users will be fully refunded. It has not provided a reopening date.
