At the Consensus Hong Kong conference, Sui executives Stephen Mackintosh and Evan Cheng predicted 2025 as a pivotal year for institutional crypto adoption. They highlighted the impact of the Genius Act, which is expected to boost institutional awareness and demand for crypto assets. Mackintosh pointed to the rise in Digital Asset Treasury tools, the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs, and the involvement of major trading firms like Citadel and Jane Street as indicators of growing institutional interest. Cheng emphasized the convergence of traditional finance and decentralized finance, noting the efficiency of DeFi's T+0 settlement compared to traditional T+1 cycles. He suggested that asset tokenization will allow investors to leverage DeFi strategies alongside traditional financial exposures. Both executives identified tokenization and AI-driven on-chain transactions as key areas of focus for the future.
