The Stellar Development Foundation has announced plans to migrate all XLM accounts to a quantum-resistant signature scheme by the end of 2027. This initiative aims to safeguard against potential threats posed by future quantum computing capabilities that could compromise current cryptographic signature algorithms. The migration will be executed through protocol-level updates, ensuring that existing addresses and on-chain transaction histories remain intact, eliminating the need for users to change addresses or rebuild transaction records.
