Square has introduced a Bitcoin payment feature for merchants, allowing them to accept Bitcoin at point-of-sale (POS) terminals. Currently, this service is available for in-person and terminal payments, with online and invoicing capabilities under development. Square has announced that there will be no transaction fees for Bitcoin payments until 2027, after which a 1% fee is expected. The Square ecosystem spans 8 countries and serves over 4 million merchants. Some users have already experienced this feature in U.S. coffee shops. Additionally, Cash App has launched a global Bitcoin merchant map to support this initiative.
