SpaceX plans to invest $100 billion in a massive new launch site in southern Louisiana, a project designed to support thousands of Starship flights per year. The proposed facility would span about 125,000 acres, with construction expected to begin next year and a first launch targeted for 2029. Louisiana Economic Development said the fully built site would include five launch complexes, propellant production facilities, a power plant, spacecraft processing facilities and employee housing. Elon Musk said the “Louisiana Starport” could ultimately feature more than a dozen launch pads and support up to 30 Starship launches per day. The project is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs.
