S&P Global has completed its acquisition of blockchain security firm OpenZeppelin, with the transaction amount undisclosed. The deal, first announced on September 17, extends S&P Global's risk assessment capabilities into on-chain technology risk.
OpenZeppelin will retain its brand and operate as an independent business unit under founder Demian Brener, who reports to S&P Global Ratings President Yann Le Pallec. The company's widely-used OpenZeppelin Contracts smart contract library will remain open source, free, and publicly maintained.
