South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has upgraded its AI surveillance system, VISTA, with Nvidia H100 GPUs to enhance real-time detection of crypto market manipulation. This move comes as suspicious crypto transaction reports in 2025 have already surpassed the totals from the previous two years. The enhanced system aims to provide faster responses to increasing suspicious activities by tracking linked accounts and analyzing messages to uncover coordinated unfair trading.
The FSS secured 170 million won for server expansion in 2024 and plans to install an additional Nvidia H100 unit by the second quarter. This upgrade supports advanced AI training and complex data analysis, enabling faster processing of large trading datasets across exchanges. The VISTA platform, launched in 2024, has already improved the detection of unfair trading patterns, providing deeper investigative insights.
The AI expansion is driven by a significant rise in suspicious transaction reports, with 36,684 reports filed between January and August 2025, exceeding the combined totals of 2023 and 2024. The FSS's efforts reflect a broader trend of increasing digital asset usage and aim to strengthen early detection capacity across virtual asset markets.
