South Korea's credit card industry will conclude its joint technical verification of KRW stablecoins by the end of July. The test, which involved major card companies, focused on assessing the payment capabilities of KRW stablecoins in various scenarios, including QR codes and POS terminals. It also explored the feasibility of converting regional currency, vouchers, and credit card points into stablecoins.
Following the completion of this test, there are no plans to establish new working groups for further stablecoin development. Instead, card companies are expected to shift their focus towards differentiated competition in the market.
