The Solana Foundation has announced that its network is being positioned as the core infrastructure for an "agentic" internet, where AI systems initiate and execute economic activities. Solana has already processed approximately 15 million on-chain AI agent payments, primarily for machine-to-machine transactions. Stablecoins are becoming the default payment method for related computational resources and services. Solana believes that AI agents, leveraging programmable payment features, can support microtransactions down to sub-cent levels, potentially transforming internet monetization models.
