Solana, in collaboration with Solana Mobile, has revealed plans for the SKR token, set to launch in January 2026. Solana co-founder Toly highlighted that while the technology stack is still under development, the SKR token aims to provide holders with vertical control over their mobile devices, enhancing user experience and enabling revenue generation. The token will utilize cryptography and Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to capture value for its holders. The SKR token launch will include a significant airdrop, with 30% of the tokens allocated for distribution. This initiative is part of Solana Mobile's broader strategy to integrate blockchain technology into mobile ecosystems, offering new functionalities and economic opportunities for users.
