The Solana Foundation, in collaboration with Asymmetric Research, has launched STRIDE, a comprehensive security program aimed at safeguarding decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols within the Solana ecosystem. Announced on April 6, 2026, STRIDE offers tiered security measures, including ongoing evaluations, threat monitoring, and formal verification, tailored to the size and risk profile of each protocol. This initiative comes in response to the recent $286 million hack of the Drift Protocol.
STRIDE provides 24/7 monitoring for protocols with over $10 million in total value locked (TVL) and formal verification for those exceeding $100 million in TVL. The program is supported by the Solana Incident Response Network (SIRN), a coalition of five security firms, including OtterSec and Neodyme, dedicated to real-time crisis management. STRIDE aims to replace traditional one-off audits with continuous protection, enhancing security across the Solana DeFi landscape.
