Solana Foundation executive Chase Barker has recommended that Robinhood abandon its use of Arbitrum for the Robinhood Chain, citing performance and fee limitations inherent to Layer 2 networks. Barker argued that L2 centralization issues have constrained development and scalability, making them unsuitable for long-term infrastructure needs.
Barker suggested two alternatives for Robinhood: building a new high-performance blockchain from scratch or migrating directly to Solana. He positioned Solana as a proven high-performance public chain capable of addressing the scaling challenges currently facing L2-based solutions.
