SK Telecom has been named a key partner by Nvidia in advancing AI-driven semiconductor manufacturing. At GTC Taipei, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted SK Telecom's role in creating a digital twin of SK Hynix's semiconductor fabrication facility using Nvidia's Omniverse platform. This virtual replica simulates production processes, aiding SK Hynix's Autonomous Factory 2030 initiative to make fabs largely self-running within four years.
The collaboration, initially announced in October 2025, involves building an AI factory powered by over 50,000 Nvidia GPUs, with the first phase expected by late 2027. This partnership underscores SK Telecom's strategic shift into AI infrastructure, enhancing its position beyond telecommunications and into enterprise AI services.
