Singapore police, in collaboration with Coinbase and six other cryptocurrency exchanges, conducted a six-week operation to prevent potential crypto scams, identifying 145 potential victims and averting over $4.2 million in losses. The operation, which ran from April 16 to May 31, 2026, utilized blockchain analysis tools from Chainalysis and TRM Labs to investigate activities related to impersonation, investment, job, and romance scams. The analysis enabled authorities to identify individuals at risk of transferring cryptocurrency to scammers. Investigators then worked with exchanges to link suspicious activities to identifiable customers.
