The Singapore Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) has identified a shift towards cryptocurrency in bribery cases, complicating corruption methods. At a recent press conference, CPIB highlighted that emerging technologies have facilitated cross-border crimes, necessitating enhanced collaboration with international agencies to build evidence chains. In response, CPIB has established a dedicated team to investigate, collect evidence, and analyze cryptocurrency-related cases, while continuously upgrading its investigative technologies. Over the past year, the bureau has also intensified anti-corruption efforts in high-risk private sectors such as construction, manufacturing, and warehousing.
