The Singapore High Court has ruled against Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon in his attempt to recover a $15.1 million down payment for a luxury condo. The court found that Kwon, who faced criminal charges, failed to complete the purchase of a four-bedroom penthouse at Sculptura Ardmore in Singapore. Despite paying half the purchase price, Kwon did not fulfill the final payment requirement, leading to the expiration of the lease and purchase option in June 2023.
The developer retained the deposit, citing breach of contract, and sought additional rent and repair costs. While the court dismissed the repair claim, it ordered Kwon to pay an extra month's rent. Kwon's appeal to reclaim the deposit was rejected, and the property was subsequently sold for $26.87 million.
