SiaFoundation has successfully completed its V2 hard fork in the third quarter of 2025, introducing significant upgrades to its protocol. The update features a modular storage stack, Utreexo light nodes, RHP4 protocol, QUIC network, and production-level renterd, hostd, and walletd. These enhancements have led to a 4.3% increase in active storage contracts, totaling 14,300, while average prices have risen by 17.2% to 555.8 SC per TB per month.
Despite the price increase, storage costs have decreased to $1.43 per TB per month, marking a one-year low. The network's total capacity stands at 7.1 petabytes, with 1.3 petabytes currently in use, reflecting the network's growing efficiency and capacity utilization.
