Shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has been halted following warnings from Iran's armed forces about resumed "strict management and control" over the strategic waterway. On April 18, multiple vessels received radio communications from Iran, leading to a standstill in maritime traffic.
British maritime security firm Pioneer Technologies reported attacks on three vessels in the area, including an oil tanker, a cruise ship, and a container ship. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly warned and fired upon two of these vessels, while the container ship was hit by unidentified projectiles, causing damage to some containers.
