SharpLink Gaming has announced the deployment and staking of approximately $170 million worth of Ethereum (ETH) on the Ethereum Layer 2 network, Linea. The company, which is the second-largest publicly listed ETH treasury firm, had previously indicated plans to stake up to $200 million in ETH on Linea to achieve higher risk-adjusted returns. SharpLink currently holds about 864,800 ETH, valued at nearly $2.7 billion. Notably, SharpLink is a member of the Linea Consortium, and its chairman, Joseph Lubin, is the founder and CEO of Consensys, the incubator of the Linea network. Since the token issuance in September, Linea's total value locked (TVL) has decreased by approximately 89%, from a peak of $1.64 billion to $185.7 million.
