Shanghai has officially launched its humanoid robot pilot-scale testing service platform during the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026. The platform, now fully operational, integrates resources from over 480 suppliers to support the development of domestically produced core components. It collaborates with industry organizations and universities to establish standards for humanoid robots and offers open-source software and hardware for secondary development.
The platform also connects with Pudong innovation vouchers and other subsidy policies, providing up to 50% cost subsidies for pilot-scale testing services. Additionally, it partners with banks and insurance institutions to offer special R&D loans and full-cycle liability insurance, facilitating comprehensive support for the development and testing of humanoid robots.
