A court in Shandong Province has ruled that an investor must bear the losses from an entrusted investment in virtual currency. The Zhangqiu District Court in Jinan City adjudicated a case where Liu, who had invested in Elfcoin through a friend, Zhang, found the platform inaccessible before the investment period ended. Liu's attempt to recover his funds was unsuccessful as the platform was under police investigation for suspected criminal activity.
The court declared the investment contract invalid, citing that Liu's actions disrupted financial order and endangered financial security. It emphasized that the risks associated with Liu's illegal virtual currency activities are not protected by law, leading to the dismissal of his lawsuit against Zhang.
