Singapore Exchange has received CFTC authorization under Regulation 48.10 of the Commodity Exchange Act, allowing U.S. institutional investors to directly trade its Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures.
SGX’s Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures launched in late November 2025 and have generated $5.8 billion in cumulative turnover, equal to about 400,000 contracts. As of August, the two contracts averaged about 1,300 contracts per day with roughly $19 million in notional value.
Bitcoin contracts accounted for 66% of open interest and 83% of average daily volume since launch, with a single-day peak of 11,500 contracts and about $145 million in notional value. SGX expects U.S. clearing members to onboard clients over the next one to two months and plans to launch expiring Bitcoin and Ether futures and options products.
