SEC Chairman Paul S. Atkins announced that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is contemplating modernizing securities regulations for on-chain markets. This initiative includes redefining the term "exchange" as it applies to the crypto market and assessing how broker-dealer rules might apply to on-chain activities and software interfaces. The SEC may also consider establishing exemptive rules as part of this process.
